I’ve been experimenting with using my calendar to help me Time Block. One major issue with this can be that there is a default alert added when you add something to your calendar. Turning this off can help to reduce some of the alert-noise that it can generate.
It turns out that rather than hunting for a setting in Apple Calendar or Fantastical, just turn it off in google.
- Goto https://calendar.google.com
- Settings
- Click on the specific calendar
- Remove the default alert
I’ve also been finding Fantastical’s calendar sets to be really helpful. Here’s how I use it:
- show all calendars set
- in my focus calendar - block out time for meetings which I’ve agreed to
- then switch to my “focus calendar” set - which is really just one calendar
- then time block within this / use it as reference as I flow through the day.
Hope this saves you a few minutes.
